A Helping Hand

 

A Helping Hand is a light comedy set on the Eastern Shore in the 1940s.  It was performed on July 25th and 27th at the Memory Heritage Variety Show.  [Written by Sue Higgs and Directed by Robin Webber.]

When young Dorothy is taken out of school to look after a family whose Mother is pregnant again, she is greeted by "You're late.  I was told you'd be here earlier."   Dorothy is soon set to work washing floors, cooking pies and baking bread and when Mary Lyndon takes to her bed to have the baby, Dorothy has her hands full trying to remember everything that needs to be done.
